On the Sorbs' traces in Bautzen
Lusatian printing house

This was the last location of the Sorbian printing house in Bautzen. Following privatisation, the company was unable to hold its own in the market.

The buildings at Töpferstraße 4 show the 450-year tradition of the printed word in Bautzen. They are also known in Bautzen as the "Sorbian printing house". In the middle of the 20th century this printing house was in the meantime also the organizational property of the Domowina. From 1694 the company worked as a district printing house and as the most important production location of the Domowina publishing house. Numerous Sorbian books, brochures, newspapers and magazines were printed here, for example the Sorbian evening newspaper "Serbske Nowiny". In 2017 the centuries-long tradition of classical printing in Bautzen ends here. Mehr
